Efficiency Board case files, 1932-1939.

The series contains the transcripts of testimony and evidence of six Efficiency Board cases heard from 1932 to 1939. The cases include the investigations of several officers' professional abilities and accusations against Guardsmen during the Islamorada Hurricane relief of 1935. Executive actions based on the report of the Board are included in some cases.

The Florida National Guard was established in 1909 (Ch. 5930, Laws) replacing the Florida State Troops. From 1921 until 1973, the Guard was placed under the Military Dept (Ch. 8502, Laws).
